A BAFTA and RTS Awards Nominated Producer Director, Peter has been making high rating network and regional documentary films and series as well as other factual television programmes for over 25 years.
In 2018 he set up True Wonder, developing and securing a first commission for ‘Shedding The Fat’, a 1x60 minute observational documentary for BBC ONE Scotland. Please click on the ‘What We Do’ tab’ to watch it.
Other career highlights include ‘Transplant Tales’ (2x60, BBC ONE), ‘How to Get A Council House’ (1x60, C4), ‘Stepfamlies’ (1x60, BBC ONE), Heston Blumenthal’s first series on network television In Search of Perfection (7x30, BBC TWO) and Civil War (4x30, BBC TWO) an immersive, talent-led history drama documentary series looking at the religious and political turmoil of the 1640s.
Transformative journeys, sensitive subject matter and securing/managing access to major public institutions like the NHS are a highlight of Peter’s work as is an interest in shaping new formats.
In 2004, he won ‘Best Television Programme’ for Nick Nairn and The Dinner Ladies, (1x30, BBC TWO Scotland), at the Glenfiddich Food and Drink Awards.
A graduate of the National Film & Television School, Peter has exceptional camera skills, worked with new and established talent and led teams/crews of all sizes.
Jane McCloskey
Executive Producer
An award winning and seasoned media leader, talent coach and non-executive director with 30 years’ experience in the content arena, Jane has deep knowledge and experience in unscripted and live content. She spent many years at ITV and the BBC as a senior leader in news and current affairs. She’s also worked in the independent production sector.
In her executive career Jane has held many regional and network leadership roles. She managed ITV Network’s relationship with the Nations and Regions production sector, setting up the ground-breaking Independent Production Fund, before overseeing the BBC’s relationship with independent content suppliers UK-wide working across the BBC’s TV, radio and digital content divisions.
As Director of Organisational Change she worked for Mark Thompson’s executive board supporting leaders across the BBC to modernise the corporation before joining Peter Salmon to re-invent the BBC in Birmingham. Jane was a founder Board member of the pathfinder BBC/Arts Council digital channel The Space and also a co-founder of Albert the now industry-wide production carbon calculator. She led a new era of the BBC’s public value partnerships with the BFI, British Council and the Open University.
Jane is also a highly experienced non-executive director, trustee and independent Chair, having served on fourteen arts, media and not-for-profit Boards including young people’s charity Fixers, The Prince’s Trust and global health and safety body IOSH. She has a deep knowledge of governance, audit and risk.
As a fully accredited leadership coach her creative industries clients range from new leaders, entrepreneurs and seasoned executives to board members and on-screen talent with clients as diverse as Banijay and ITV News.
As well as bringing a wealth of wealth of television industry experience, insight and editorial judgement to TW’s development slate, Jane’s will also act as an Executive Producer on TW’s future productions.
David Murray
Finance and Business Affairs Director
TW’s finances and budgets are overseen by David Murray, former Head of Sports Rights at the BBC for over 5 years. David was responsible for acquiring all the BBC’s sports rights, and managed a budget of over £1 billion. David also sat on the BBC Sport Board as well as being elected a Vice President of the EBU Sports Group and sitting on the EBU’s Commercial Board.
David’s BBC role included oversight of BBC Sports independent production tenders and budgets. He previously managed the BBC’s investment appraisal process, which included reviewing all independent productions above £1 million. David was also responsible for the biggest selling DVD in UK history, a 5 disc BBC box set of its 2O12 London Olympics coverage…until beaten a few years later by the new Star Wars sequels.
